The dedication ceremony took place on September 19th, 2015. Inaugural performances featuring: Joshua Ballew (comedy), Margaret Noodin (poetry), and Laura Hunter (vocal). Angelique’s marker is located near the corner of Fratney and Locust in Riverwest Milwaukee just east of Woodland Pattern Book Center.

Angelique Roy was the daughter of Mahteenose and Joseph Roy and granddaughter of Ahkenepaweh, a Menomonee tribal leader. In 1786 Angelique married the first person of European descent, a French-Canadian voyageur, to permanently settle in the area now known as Milwaukee.

The project was commissioned by the Suburban for the Terrain Biennial.
