Kitchen Minute with Çakaroz and Buccheri
Emir Çakaroz and Sarah Buccheri, Milwaukee, WI
"I like to cook my own meals. It is healthier, and I can be very picky about my food."
Emir Çakaroz is a filmmaker, and finds film editing very similar to the cooking experience: "You need to find the right footage and adjust its duration to have a good edit. In cooking, you do the same things; find the right ingredients, and adjust the right amount of these ingredients to have good food." Emir spends more time in the kitchen than he usually would, "I'm on a special diet right now because of health reasons. I would say 2 hours.
Emir earned his MA degree from Anadolu University in Turkey and MFA degree from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His work has been shown at many international film festivals including Antalya International Golden Orange Film Festival in Turkey and International Ethnographic Film Festival of Quebec. He is currently working on a documentary about farm auctions in Wisconsin.
For dinner, he is creating a healthy and delicious menu. "I will have pan-fried salmon and salad, which contains green leaf lettuce, cucumber, olive oil, and salt."
