Monumentis Interruptis 2015 - 2016
Monumentis Interruptus: Act One 2015-2016
Single channel video
A video collage of public inscription, a term Druecke uses to describe the many different ways—high, low, official, transgressive—we write ourselves into the landscape. The piece is pilgrimage wherein Druecke arrives at various landmarks to pay homage through his fleeting presence and touch.
The project debuted as a one-evening projection and installation at Temporary Resurfacing, Milwaukee, WI. June 18 2016. The video was projected into the night air, the only way to see the imagery was to step into the projection.
